Essence.
There is Arabian rush, with a pleasant smell, and also marsh, thin; it is harder and thicker and has no odor. Dioscorides says:  “Rump grass is of two types:  one of them has no fruits, and the other has black fruits.”

Choice.
The best rush is Arabian, red, with a pungent odor. Its inflorescences are reddish, and when they bloom, they turn purple and sting the tongue.

Nature
The marsh rush has a cooling power, and according to Abu Jurayj, it is all cold. Its root is more astringent, and its inflorescences slightly warm, but its astringent property is less strong than its ability to warm. The Arabian rush is by its nature hot and dry, almost to the second degree.

Actions and properties.
Ruminus has astringent properties and therefore its inflorescences help with hemoptysis, no matter where the blood comes from. Fragrant rush oil dissolves and binds, but its root is stronger in this regard. Fragrant rumen binds nature, promotes ripening and softening; it opens the mouths of blood vessels, soothes internal pain, especially in the uterus, and dissolves the winds.

Wounds and ulcers.
Fragrant rush oil helps relieve itching even in livestock.

Tumors and acne.
Rustic decoction helps against hot tumors, and for internal hardenings it is useful in the form of a drink, medicinal dressings and decoction, as well as for cold tumors in the insides.

Tools with joints.
A quarter of a bowl of aromatic rush, if drunk with pepper, helps with muscle ruptures and spasms. Its oil eliminates exhaustion.

Head organs.
The fragrant rush makes the head heavy, especially the swampy look.

The thinner type of rush causes headaches, while the thicker type makes you sleepy, and its seeds cause numbness. All types of rush strengthen the gums and absorb moisture, and their inflorescences cleanse the head.

Respiratory and chest organs.
The aromatic rush helps relieve pain in the lungs, and its inflorescences are beneficial for hemoptysis.

Nutritional organs.
The root of the aromatic rush strengthens the stomach, stimulates the appetite, and its root, if taken in one bowl, especially with the same amount of pepper, calms nausea. Its inflorescences soothe stomach pain and help against stomach tumors and liver tumors.

Eruption organs.

The aromatic rush is especially helpful for pain in the uterus; if you sit in a bath of its decoction, it is beneficial for hot tumors of the uterus. The effect of this decoction is the same if it is put into the uterus or smoked in pairs. It increases the flow of urine and menstruation and expels them, crushes stones in the bladder and strengthens the nature, especially both swamp species, which also stop bleeding in women. Fragrant rush inflorescences help relieve kidney pain and bleeding from the kidneys.

If you drink an infusion of rushnik root with pepper in the amount of one misqal, it helps against dropsy; Its inflorescences are useful for tumors in the anus.

Poisons.
If you make a medicinal dressing from fresh leaves of the thick, aromatic rush growing at the root, it will be useful against reptile bites.
