Ushshak - ammonium resin

Essence.
This is tursus gum. It is sometimes called "gluing gold" because it is used for gilding paper and notebooks.

Nature.
Hot at the limit of the second degree, dry in the first degree.

 Actions and properties.
Ushshak strongly dissolves and dries, but does not burn much. In terms of its ability to open, it goes so far as to cause blood to flow from the mouths of the vessels. It is part of medications that correct the harm caused by laxatives, softens and attracts.

Tumors and acne.
Ushshak is smeared and used to make medicinal dressings with vinegar and soda. It helps against mumps, hardening and knots.

Wounds and ulcers.
Ushshak is useful for malignant wounds: it eats up bad meat and makes good meat grow.

Tools with joints.
It helps with pain due to inflammation of the sciatic nerve and pain in the side and joints if drunk with honey or barley water. A medicinal bandage made from it with honey and zift dissolves stiffness in the joints, and if mixed with vinegar, bavrak and henna oil, it helps against exhaustion.

Organs of the eye.
Ushshak softens hardening of the eyelids and trachoma, reduces thorns and is useful for fluids in the eye.

Respiratory and chest organs.
Ushshak, if licked with honey or barley water, is useful for asthma, difficulty breathing and “standing breathing”. It clears ulcers on the abdominal obstruction and helps against sore throats caused by mucus and black bile.

Nutritional organs.
If you drink one darakhmi ushshak, and also if you spread it with vinegar; it is useful for hardening in the spleen and liver. It also helps with dropsy.

Eruption organs.
Ushshak strongly drives urine, so that a person even urinates blood; it kills the "pumpkin seeds", weakens and expels the fetus, alive or dead, and drives away menstruation. If you apply ushshak with vinegar to the hardening of the testicles, it will soften them.

 Substitutes.
It is replaced by mud from bees' honeycombs.
