Vermicida

Ver me casid: “To kill worms” , alludes to the use of vermicides to kill grubs, larvae, and/or pupae.

The term vermicide is based on words in Latin vermis, meaning a type of worm, and caedo, meaning "to kill."

Vermicides are chemicals, such as dichlorvos or organophosphates, that are used to control or kill nematodes, other parasites, or food-storing pests.

While many people regard vermicides merely as a means of killing infestations, technically they actually do more than simply kill the worms. In some cases, vermigies
