Fibroblast

Fibroblast is the main specialized cell widespread in connective tissue, which synthesizes and secretes the main components of the intercellular substance - polysaccharides, collagen precursors, from which collagen, elastic and reticular fibers are formed.

Fibroblasts play a key role in the synthesis of the main substance of connective tissue. They are responsible for the production of collagen, glycosaminoglycans, proteoglycans and other proteins of the intercellular matrix. In addition, fibroblasts regulate the processes of differentiation, migration and proliferation of other cells. They are involved in reparative processes and wound healing, as well as in inflammatory reactions and tissue fibrosis. Dysfunction of fibroblasts underlies many pathological conditions of connective tissue.



Fibroblastic cells: basic information Fibroblasts are a type of connective tissue. It is represented by cells that synthesize intermediate metabolites in the process of synthesis of the intercellular matrix and have a certain structural and functional unit with various specific properties, but a single organization.
