Apew cream with witch hazel reviews

The cream is very good. Moisturizes and does not make the skin shiny. For the night I would like this "madecassoside"

I liked it, it looks like a bigger gel, it absorbs quickly and doesn’t cause any unpleasant sensations, there is no stickiness, it doesn’t tighten the skin, and it’s too early to talk about improving the condition of the skin, since I just started using it

Finding the perfect face cream is not an easy task. Especially for me. Either I am not satisfied with how it works on my skin, then it causes problems, or I don’t like the application. That's why I'm constantly looking for "the one."

Today I want to talk about two face creams from my favorite Korean brand A’Pieu. Products from this brand rarely disappoint me, so I often buy myself something new to try. Creams from this line appeared in Podruzhka a long time ago and I had already run out of them, so I was able to study their work inside and out.

The design of the packaging and the aluminum tubes themselves resemble pharmaceutical ointments, but this does not bother me at all. On the contrary, one gets the impression that the remedy is “serious” and can really cope with problems.

About my skin:

Problematic, combination, prone to oiliness, there are open and closed comedones. During cold periods, you may be more sensitive than usual.

A'PIEU Glycolic Acid Cream

I really like the famous A’Pieu toner with glycolic acid: it evens out skin tone and gets rid of imperfections. Therefore, I initially had high hopes for this cream.

Glycolic cream has a pleasant gel texture. At first glance, it seemed too thick to me, but in fact it spreads easily over the skin, is quickly absorbed and does not leave a greasy film. The smell is neutral.

This cream contains three active ingredients:

  1. Birch sap – 30%
  2. Glycolic acid - 3%
  3. Salicylic acid - 0.45%

Glycolic acid has proven itself in the care of problematic and aging skin. It exfoliates, smoothes, and moisturizes. The skin begins to glow when using it. Salicylic acid is one of the best acids for those with oily problem skin. It is able to penetrate deep into the pores and exfoliate there.

This cream has low acid content. Of course I would like more. But in this situation, the risk of allergies, redness or peeling is minimal.

Betula Alba Juice, Water, Propanediol, Tromethamine, Glycolic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycereth-26, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Beeswax, Dimethicone, Polysorbate 60, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sorbitan Stearate, PEG-240/HDI Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Glyceryl Stearate, Panthenol, Salicylic Acid, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyacetophenone, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, PEG-100 Stearate, Isohexadecane, PEG-2M, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Allantoin, Sucrose Distearate, Polysorbate 80, Adenosine, Sorbitan Oleate, Disodium EDTA, Pantolactone, Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Ferment Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ananas sativus (pineapple) fruit Extract, Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract

I started using the cream 3 times a week at night, observing the reaction. The cream did not cause any burning or irritation for me. There was no dryness either; on the contrary, the cream perfectly moisturizes the skin, even in cold periods. After a couple of weeks, I began to use the cream every day at night, and sometimes during the day under makeup.

In the morning the skin is not shiny. It shines with a healthy glow, spots lighten and the overall appearance seems healthier and more rested. And if it is used in conjunction with acid tonics, the effect is enhanced.

The cream also worked well for me as a makeup product. The foundation spreads well and does not crease. During the day, the cosmetics do not slip off. The cream does not mattify, so after 2-2.5 hours shine begins to appear.

The cream lasted me for six months of use almost every day. I will repeat the purchase.

A'PIEU Hamamelis Cream

The manufacturer claims this cream as mattifying. I admit, I have been diligently avoiding the word “mattifying” for many years, even though my skin is prone to oily skin. All products that include “matting” completely clogged my pores and caused terrible acne. Therefore, I gave up all attempts to find decent matting care, and powders and matting wipes became indispensable for me.

I've been wondering about this cream for a long time. The phrase about reducing the secretion of the sebaceous glands and the word “mattifying” on the price tag scared me. But still, hope and interest got the better of me and I bought this comrade.

The texture of this cream is thicker than glycolic. It is more difficult to distribute over the skin. Eventually I got used to applying it with patting movements. It is absorbed quickly and does not leave a film or grease. The aroma is light and unobtrusive, smells like lemon.

There are also three active components:

  1. Witch hazel extract - 77%
  2. Palmetto Extract
  3. Chinese sumac extract

I have never encountered any of these ingredients before. But the manufacturer writes that all this will help reduce the secretion of the sebaceous glands, moisturize, tone and help get rid of skin problems.

Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Isotridecyl Isononanoate, Glyceryl Stearate, Niacinamide, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Pentylene Glycol, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Trigly ceride, Caprylyl Methicone , Hydroxyacetophenone, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Adenosine, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Disodium EDTA, Hexylene Glycol, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Rhus Semialata Gall Extract, Capryloyl Glycine, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil , Beta-Sitosterol, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract, Sarcosine, Tocopherol.

I didn't like the first acquaintance with the cream. Firstly, this was due to the fact that it is difficult to distribute over the skin. But I already wrote above that in the further process of use, I began to apply it with patting movements. Therefore this problem disappeared.

Secondly, it pricks the skin. Although at that time the cold weather and heating season were still far away and it was impossible to call my skin sensitive at that time. And I’m not used to the fact that day care can sting.

Thirdly, it does not moisturize! In general, it does not provide a drop of moisture; on the contrary, it even dries out a little. I didn’t notice it right away, but after 20-30 minutes, when I was already leaving the house with makeup on.

But during the day the skin actually became less oily. And the first time I used a matting napkin was not after 2-2.5 hours, but after 4 hours.

After some time, I realized how best to apply this cream, and that it works well with the Harakeke toner from The Saem. The toner moisturizes, and the witch hazel cream mattifies. And its drying effect is not felt. In winter, I began to apply more nourishing products under the cream with witch hazel, but the mattifying effect still remained.

I am glad that the cream did not clog the pores and no new acne appeared from it. But it does not have any effect on existing inflammation, although the manufacturer writes about its anti-inflammatory properties.

Will I repurchase this cream? Most likely no. It works well as a mattifying base for makeup, but I don't feel any care from it. You still want more from a caring cream than just a base for foundation.

Comparison of the textures of two creams. To the left is a cream with witch hazel, to the right is with glycolic acid:

There are two more creams in the line of these creams: with calamondin and with madecassoside. I plan to meet them too. Have you tried these creams or the ones I just talked about? Write in the comments, it will be interesting to know
