Astrocytoma is a mixed tumor - it is an epithelial tumor. It is characterized by Ghon cells and is thus classified as a neuroblast. This type of tumor belongs to primary brain tumors. Astrocytoma most often affects children. This tumor develops in adults in 3-5% of cases.
