The benefits and effectiveness of aloe masks for facial skin

In Arabic, “aloe” means “bitter,” but despite this, it is highly valued by adherents of traditional medicine and large beauty manufacturers. The plant with medicinal properties was used by ancient Egyptian healers in the second millennium BC. Christopher Columbus took aloe on expeditions to treat wounds and skin diseases. Nowadays, the juice extracted from the fleshy leaves is often included in cosmetics.

Moisturizes
Aloe is a succulent, that is, a plant that accumulates moisture inside and remains active in the most unfavorable dry conditions. The gel with which its leaves are filled is a storehouse of “concentrated” water, and our skin so often lacks it.

Refreshes
The places where aloe grows naturally have a hot climate, and the plant has developed its own defense system against high temperatures.

Calms
This obvious property of aloe was the first to be appreciated.

Regenerates
Like all plants of “difficult fate”, that is, living in difficult natural conditions, aloe contains biologically active substances that help to bloom and turn green even in drought.

Mechanism of action on the skin

Polysaccharides retain moisture well.

Vitamins C and E They are also antioxidants, and B vitamins and folic acid are involved in tissue regeneration processes. Their benefits for smoothness, elasticity and hydration of the skin cannot be overestimated.

Amino acids. Aloe contains 20 of the 22 essential amino acids for humans. Some of them have a softening effect on the skin, which is of particular importance for dryness and dehydration.

Minerals. Calcium, zinc, chromium, copper, magnesium, silicon, potassium, manganese - some of these minerals are part of the antioxidant system of the skin and the body as a whole.

EnzymesContained in aloe, act on the skin as soft exfoliants, cleansing it of impurities and preventing the development of microinfections and inflammation.

Lignin used in cosmetics as a conductor of active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin.

What to give preference: a homemade mask or a ready-made product

The impressive list of benefits of aloe vera will certainly make you take a fresh look at this plant, modestly perched on the windowsill. Yes, all these treasures are hidden under the thick green skin. But before we tell you how to get them, we decided to give the floor to our experts.

Marina Kamanina, expert at L’Oréal Paris, still does not recommend home preparation: “Firstly, it is impossible to accurately calculate how many active components are in the composition of aloe juice obtained at home, while its benefits depend on the concentration of these substances. For industrial production, plants grown in conditions most favorable for the accumulation of beneficial properties are used.

The methods of extracting the juice are important. For industrial production, aloe is collected on plantations specially created for this purpose.”

Aloe face mask: choose - homemade recipes or ready-made products

If you still can’t wait to try yourself as a cosmetic product creator, proceed this way.

Cut the bottom leaf of the aloe as close to the base as possible.

Place or place the sheet in a container, cut side down, to allow the yellow resin to drain.

Using a vegetable peeler or sharp knife, carefully cut off the green skin from one side of the leaf.

Use a teaspoon to scrape out all the gel.

Use it immediately or place it in a sterile container and refrigerate. Do not store the gel for more than two days.

The finished moisturizing gel is located directly under the green peel.

Lifehack. To keep the gel longer, mix it with 500 mg of pure vitamin C (unflavored, of course). This makes a wonderful antioxidant cocktail. But with the same success, you will receive it as part of ready-made cosmetics without unnecessary hassle.

Aloe is probably the most popular houseplant. Previously, it stood in almost every house. Its second name is agave. It is not for nothing that they say so about it - it is an almost indestructible plant that can live for 7 years without water and sprout new stems. Unbelievable but true. In addition to such resistance to environmental conditions, it is also healing. That’s why it’s on many people’s windowsills. They say that only a mature plant (which is 5 years old) has healing properties.

Knowledgeable people have long noticed the benefits of agave juice and pulp. There are many recipes for using it in folk medicine. Of course, its benefits have also been noticed in home cosmetology. The most common use of aloe vera is on the face. But this is in the modern world, and half a century ago they attributed magical properties to it, they hung a piece of agave at the entrance to a new house, thinking that the healing plant would give the owners longevity and prosperity.

Benefits of aloe for the face

The plant contains 150 microelements that take care of our skin every now and then.

What exactly can agave do for female beauty:

  1. Healing wounds, cuts and generally any damage to the skin. Everyone has probably known about this amazing property since childhood.
  2. The second well-known superpower of aloe is super-hydration. For dry, flaky skin, this is a real must-have. To all this is added the property of retaining moisture in the cells of the epidermis, which is also very important for a healthy and radiant appearance.
  3. Pimples, pustules and any rashes in general are powerless in the fight against aloe-containing products.
  4. Plants are effectively used in Anti-Age cosmetics, that is, we can confidently assume that the plant can cope with wrinkles and other age-related changes.
  5. After home use, many notice an improvement in skin elasticity and a beautiful pink tint.
  6. Normalizes sebum production. Conclusion – indicated for women with oily skin. The first point talks about the benefits for dry skin. Therefore, agave is suitable for any girl, no matter what skin type she has. And since the plant is hypoallergenic, there is no need to worry about serious reactions after using a mask or cream.

The easiest care option is to wipe your face with aloe every morning and evening. In addition, the plant has a minimal list of contraindications:

It is not recommended to do such procedures during menstruation. However, these are not contraindications, but only a warning. Check this issue with your doctor or wait a few days for the procedure.

Aloe in home cosmetology

What probably came to your mind was a face mask. Of course, you can squeeze the juice out of the plant, remove the pulp and add it to the mask. But this is far from the only option for using agave at home.

The plant is used in hair masks. They also make various compresses for healing wounds on any part of the body, which have an antibacterial effect. Aloe is known for its use for the health of our feet: it is both a remedy for calluses and an excellent recipe for cracked heels. A product with aloe for the area around the eyes, which removes swelling, has received a lot of positive reviews.

You can also make your own cosmetic ice with the addition of agave juice and wipe your face with it every morning. Be sure to make yourself such a preparation for 2-3 weeks, it will be happy to save you, stored in the refrigerator. And our ingredient will saturate the ice with benefits that will nourish the skin and retain moisture in it.

Aloe face mask for wrinkles

You can easily make such a useful composition at home. You will need:

  1. 1 tbsp. l. agave pulp;
  2. 1 tbsp. l. heavy cream.

The primary task is to grind the pulp of the plant and, adding cream, bring the mixture until smooth. Let the mask sit for a few minutes while you thoroughly cleanse your facial skin. Apply the mixture to the skin and let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse off.

Everyone knows that for cuts and damaged skin, it was always advised to cut off a piece of aloe and apply a fresh cut to the wound, anointing it with the juice of the plant. In the fight against wrinkles, a slightly different approach. The most effective remedy here is biostimulated aloe juice.

It’s called that for a reason, and it’s easy to prepare at home. Cut off the leaves of the agave, rinse with boiled water, and remove excess moisture. Now put them in a container and lower them to the bottom of the refrigerator. Low temperatures in the vegetable department are not the most favorable conditions for the plant. And in such a seemingly critical situation, aloe begins to actively secrete biostimulants (hence the name of the juice). And they are already the best fighters against wrinkles.

uvlazhnyayushaya-maska-s-aloe-qRyUn.webp

Another great option is a mask with honey and aloe.

  1. 1 tbsp. l. biostimulated agave juice;
  2. 2 tbsp. l. honey

Heat the honey slightly in a water bath, add the active ingredient - juice. Now feel free to apply to cleansed skin. It can be applied to the neck area, because it is the area that first reveals our true age.

Review of masks with aloe

For me, this is the most convenient mask, since we have always had aloe at home since childhood. And there is honey, though it’s candied. But I keep it over steam, wait until it becomes viscous, and only then add aloe juice. In autumn and spring I don’t use moisturizers at all. The mask does everything for me. In winter, I can use additional moisturizer after a long stay in the cold. The mask makes the skin alive and soft. By the way, my friend bought a pharmacy extract and was not particularly impressed. But she liked the cosmetic ice I prepared with aloe juice. Probably it's a natural product.

Is aloe effective against wrinkles after 40 years?

Certainly! It is at this age that the skin very easily loses moisture, elasticity, becomes thinner, and therefore more vulnerable. A mask made from aloe and yolk is easy to prepare and works great:

  1. 1 tsp. aloe juice;
  2. 1 yolk;
  3. 1 tsp. almond oil.

It is better to take biostimulated juice, but freshly squeezed juice is also suitable. Instead of chicken yolk, you can take 2-3 quail yolks. But almond ether is used to give the composition the correct consistency and prevent the yolk from drying out. Mix all the ingredients and apply the mixture on your face. You can keep the mask on the skin for about half an hour, then wash thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Aloe face mask for acne

The following ingredients will be effective in the fight against problem skin: blue clay and calendula tincture. In the company of agave, they will wonderfully cope with acne. One caveat - the mask dries out the skin. If this works as a plus for problematic and oily skin, then this composition will not be suitable for those with dry skin.

So, the recipe itself:

  1. 1 tsp. blue clay;
  2. 1 tsp. agave juice;
  3. ½ tsp. calendula tinctures;
  4. 1 tsp. grape seed oil;
  5. 3-4 drops of eucalyptus or tea tree ether;
  6. water (if necessary).

You can take any clay, but the best one will be blue. It contains silver ions, iron and even chlorophyll. Against rashes – just the thing! Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl, mixing the essential oils separately. At the end, you can add a teaspoon of water to bring the mixture to a comfortable consistency. Apply with a brush, rinse after 10 minutes. This procedure can be done twice a week.

Mask against pigment spots with the addition of aloe

Age spots are not a disease and do not require any treatment, but they always cause aesthetic discomfort to their owners. And agave is called a natural skin color corrector, so the plant can cope with age spots. What should be done? Wipe problem areas with biostimulated plant juice or its gel. Massage the areas with age spots thoroughly with your fingers.

uvlazhnyayushaya-maska-s-aloe-xrEaxE.webp

Aloe gel refers to the mucus and transparent pulp that can be collected from the inside of agave leaves. This procedure needs to be done regularly every day once, or even twice. Typically, the spots disappear after a few weeks.

Aloe against blackheads - mask recipe

The composition with avocado and egg white will perfectly cleanse the pores of sebum and dirt. This is a very simple way to get rid of blackheads. So, prepare:

  1. 4 tbsp. l. aloe juice;
  2. 2 tbsp. l. with a top of whipped egg white;
  3. 1 tsp. lemon juice.

Beat the egg whites separately. Measure the required amount of air mass into a separate container. Add the remaining ingredients and apply to cleansed skin. This mask will clean the pores, narrow them, and nourish them with useful microelements (the merit of the agave). Leave the mixture on your face for 15 minutes and remove the remaining mask.
