Cat breeder

Nepetacatariavar. citriodoraDum. (cat mint)

Lemon catnip, catnip, lemon catnip - this is the name of the medicinal plant of the Lamiaceae family. It has a straight, strong, branched stem up to 1 m high, covered with fluff, heart-shaped leaves with small teeth. Inconspicuous flowers are collected in oblong inflorescences.

In many countries of Europe, the East and America, catnip is cultivated as an essential oil plant. This widespread distribution is not accidental. Catnip essential oil is a strong antibacterial agent. If a room is scented with this oil, then, according to experimental data, the level of microbial contamination, including streptococci, is significantly reduced.

The oil has a pleasant herbaceous-lemon scent with a distinct note of geranium, as the geraniol content in its composition reaches 30%.

Catnip essential oil is actively used in the food industry, perfumery and, of course, in medicine.
