Abscess of amoebic etiology An abscess is a pathological focus in tissues or organs that is formed when pyogenic microorganisms enter and inflammation develops. One of the variants of an abscess may be an abscess of ameibic etiology.

An amoebic abscess, that is, an abscess of an ameibic nature, occurs when tissues become infected with amoebas. The main causative agent is Entamoeba histolytica, which is found in the body of some animals and contributes to the spread of amoebiasis.
