Acrochordon

Acrochordon (acrochordon; acro- + Greek chorde country) is a benign skin neoplasm, which is a soft, painless nodule on a thin stalk, most often localized in the eyelids, neck, axillary and groin areas.

Acrochordons are benign skin tumors and represent a growth of connective tissue. They have a size from 1 mm to 1 cm, dense elastic consistency, grayish-pink color. Acrochordons often occur against the background of obesity, diabetes, and pregnancy.

Treatment of acrochordons consists of their surgical removal. For multiple acrochordons, electrocoagulation or cryodestruction can be performed. After removal of acrochordons, the likelihood of recurrence is low.
