Cortisol occupies a leading position in terms of diagnosing diseases of the endocrine glands, as it has a wide range of effects on the body and allows one to analyze the relationship between individual organs and the entire hormonal system as a whole. All ACS are divided into three groups according to their origin: glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids and androgenic hormones. The first two types are included in the group of corticoid ACS, the third - in the group of androgens. Drugs in this group can be used as medicines, but they are taken in dosages that are usually administered by doctors only in medical institutions.
