Alexandrova-Shauty

The Alexandra-Schaute-Wertheim operation is a surgical procedure that is used to treat malignant tumors of the lungs and mediastinum. This operation was first described in 1926 by German surgeon Vladimir Alekseev and later improved by American surgeon Walter S. Wertheim. The operation is used to remove a malignant tumor along with nearby lymph nodes and the spread of the disease on the chest.

The goal of the Alexandrova-Schaut-Wertheim operation is to remove the malignant tumor and the lymph nodes on its surface to prevent the spread of cancer and reduce the risk of recurrence. This improves the patient's quality of life and increases their life expectancy.
