Alpha Fetoprotein Test

Contents: - Neonatology developed at the beginning of science, but today, almost half a century later, it is still called a young science. She arrived around the time the world became less dangerous for newborns. This is an excellent example of how the development of technology and modern means of monitoring the human condition is changing our entire lives. But we can only learn what artificial blood analysis systems do from the work of Dr. Sheldon Black, which we borrowed from him. We will talk about this in this article. Unfortunately, this wonderful doctor left us a couple of years ago at the age of only eighty-four. But his work lives on. Artificial systems for blood analysis in our time are capable of detecting even the slightest subtle deviations - the very ones that we have not yet learned to automatically record. Dr. Sheldon Black suggested testing for different blood proteins. An example that is particularly interesting here is albumin. It is this that is recommended to be used in neonatology by the same doctor who owns the technique described in this work. For several years he pursued one patient who had about thirty pregnancies under his belt. His tests included a blood test for albumin protein. During one of his recent studies, he noticed a sharp change in its levels in a child born naturally. It was extremely unusual. An analysis of another similar protein, this time slightly different - progesterone - also showed that the baby had some kind of problem. So Dr. Black did another study - on the third protein. It showed full compliance with the sample that was received. He suggested studying the same thing in more children in the future. Two years later, the results concluded that during this period, 98% of pregnant women could be predicted to have such cases from the baby's venous blood alone. Of the 52 experimental babies, only one had a slight degree of underdevelopment, which could not be seen using standard tests. All other infants showed dysfunction of various organs. The development of this technique is actively applied
