Compound - The active ingredient is cimetidine.

Indications for use - Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, hyperacidity of gastric juice (reflux esophagitis, gastritis, duodenitis), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, pancreatitis, gastrointestinal bleeding.

Contraindications - Liver and/or renal failure, neutropenia, pregnancy, breastfeeding (breastfeeding should be avoided), childhood and adolescence (up to 14 years).

Side effect - Headache, dizziness, depression, diarrhea, deterioration of liver excretory function, increased levels of liver transaminases and creatinine in the blood serum, myalgia, gynecomastia, manifestations of antiandrogenic action, suppression of internal factor production, decreased absorption of vitamin B12, neutro- and thrombocytopenia, allergic reactions (skin rashes).

Interaction - Antacids and metoclopramide reduce absorption. Increases the serum concentration of beta-blockers, indirect anticoagulants, aminophylline, diazepam (suppresses the activity of cytochrome P450 and other liver enzymes that provide detoxification of many drugs, and therefore can increase their activity and increase side effects). Increases the risk of developing neutropenia in combination with cytostatics. Reduces the effect of androgens, barbiturates (mutually), increases - metronidazole and m-anticholinergics, the severity of side effects of narcotic analgesics. Slows down the absorption of chlorpromazine.
