Amyloidosis Starcheski

Amyloidosis of senile age (A. SENILIS) is a rare multisystem hereditary metabolic disorder, which is based on the accumulation of abnormal, incorrectly folded protein (amyloid) in various tissues of the body. According to various sources, from 0.5 to 2% of elderly people are affected. Clinical signs are edema, increased irritability, disorientation, intellectual impairment, pulmonary failure, kidney damage, cardiovascular and neuropsychiatric disorders. Diagnosis is based on the determination of monoclonal antibodies or urine electrophoresis. Specific treatment: diet therapy, administration of hydroxychloroquine.
