Androsteroma

Androsteroma is a rare disease that is associated with a disruption in the production of hormones in the human body. It occurs due to increased levels of male sex hormones, such as androgens, in body tissues, which can lead to a number of symptoms and complications.

Androsteromas can occur in different parts of the body, but the most common location is the adrenal gland. The adrenal glands are paired endocrine glands that are located above the kidneys and produce glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid hormones, as well as male sex hormones androgens. Excessive release of androgens from these glands can cause androma tumor - a neoplasm of adrenal tissue.

Symptoms of androsteroma: - Increased level of male sex hormones in the body, which is manifested in women by excessive growth of hair on the face and body according to the male type, changes in the timbre of the voice and enlargement of the clitoris, swelling

Androstenedione is the main sex steroid in men before puberty, providing rapid growth, increased muscle mass and skeleton. The main function of lutein and zeaxanthin is to protect against free radicals and stimulate photoreception, which is carried out by a special type of receptor with a special sequence of isoforms, practically absent in men. Balanced lutein levels may reduce the risk of developing age-related degenerative disease of the retina and choroid (age-related macular degeneration (AMD)) and age-related macular degeneration. A prolonged delay or decrease in testosterone levels in women contributes to the development of multiple adrosteuroma. The disease is a benign ovarian formation located under the capsule, which can grow to the size of a medium or large egg. Most often diagnosed in women during menopause and postmenopause. The most common cause of the disease is a failure of hormonal regulation.
