Apneumia

Apneumia is a medical condition that causes temporary cessation of breathing during sleep. This phenomenon can occur in people of all ages and genders, but is most common in men over 40 years of age.

One of the main causes of apneumia is obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), which occurs due to partial or complete blockage of the upper respiratory tract. This may occur due to excess body weight, enlarged adenoids, or hypertrophy of the soft palate.

The main symptom of apneumia is loud snoring, which is accompanied by periodic periods of silence when breathing stops completely. This can lead to decreased sleep quality, daytime sleepiness, headaches, and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

Treatment for apneumia depends on its cause and may include lifestyle changes such as weight loss and exercises to strengthen the throat muscles, the use of breathing devices, and surgical techniques such as widening the airway.

It is important to note that apneumia is a serious medical condition that can lead to serious complications if left untreated. Therefore, if you suspect apneumia, it is necessary to see a doctor to get the correct diagnosis and treatment.
