Bobrov's apparatus

The Bobrov apparatus is a unique invention of the Russian medical scientist Ivan Ivanovich Bobrov, which was patented in 1889. He designed and created a machine that was used to treat various diseases by using positive and negative air pressure.

Bobrov's apparatus was equipped with a pressure gauge and a pump, and also made it possible to regulate air pressure and control the flow rate. It has been used to improve circulation, relieve pain, and reduce inflammation. For many years, the Bobrov apparatus remained a popular treatment for various types of ailments. Largely thanks to the popularization of the method, scientists later developed various modifications of the device - both more modern and those with additional useful functions. One of the popular examples of modern use of the Bobrov apparatus is the BobRokad technique - a comprehensive method of rehabilitation after injuries and illnesses, which includes the use of this apparatus. According to the current patent laws of Ukraine, the device is called “Office instrument for the treatment of the respiratory and digestive organs, mainly the chest.” Due to the circumstances stated above, this device can be placed for service only at a service center or other organization that carries out verification and control activities, which precludes its use by unqualified persons, thereby preventing any possible harm to patients when using this instrument. In 2017, the Minister of Health of Ukrzaliznytsia Anna Ulyanova reported that Bobrov devices are not used in medical institutions in Ukraine.
