**Riva-Rorchi device** is a combined hand-held medical equipment and device for measuring blood pressure. The essence of the method is to inflate the cuff and add air until a pulse is felt on the “cuff”. In this way, the doctor feels the limits of elastic deformation of the artery, this corresponds to the maximum air pressure in the cuff.
They measure according to the same principle as in a conventional blood pressure meter, the cuff is placed above the elbow or leg and inflated. When the cuff pressure is comparable to the arterial pulse, the doctor must detect movement of the brachial artery and use a stethoscope to capture this movement to evaluate the resulting pressure figure. Measuring systolic blood pressure by pressing cuff devices is rarely allowed, therefore, along with them, measurement with an ultrasonic sphygmomanometer is used
