Appendicitis Perforated

Perforated appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix of the cecum, which develops through perforation of its ulcer. Free flow of intestinal contents begins into the abdominal cavity, i.e. peritonitis occurs.

Why does perforation occur? This disease most often develops as a result of acute appendicitis or diseases of the appendix after some period of time from the onset of inflammation. These include: * acute appendicitis * acute obstruction * abdominal infarction * ectopic pregnancy * local inflammation of the abdominal cavity without signs of necrosis * other abdominal diseases
