The inferior duodenal artery (lat. Aoa duodenum inferius) is the artery of the lesser curvature of the stomach, the largest of the branches of the upper part of the aoa root in humans and mammals. A further branch is the duodenal artery.
The inferior duodenal artery is located at the border of the transition to the jejunum. Located between the body and the greater curvature of the stomach. To the left of it is the body of the spleen, and to the right is the duodenal knee of the intestinal artery. The length of the inferior duodenal artery is from 6 to 7 cm. In the thickness of the greater curvature, it is divided into three branches: - The first main branch, which goes to the body and lesser curvature of the stomach and is called the gastric branch - The second main artery, it goes to the greater omentum The third also passes main branching parenchymal organs - pancreas, gall bladder, liver. Thanks to these veins, all organs in the pelvic area receive excellent blood supply. The innervation of this artery is carried out using the main celiac nerve.
