Artery Suprascapular

The suprascapular artery is a type of artery that is found in the upper part of the body, just in front of the shoulder and scapula. It is one of the largest arteries in the human body and is responsible for supplying blood to the upper torso and shoulder region.

The suprascapular artery belongs to the system of thoracic vessels that transmit blood from the heart to the thoracic region and neck. This artery delivers oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and organs of the upper body. The great anterior artery supplies the lower two-thirds of the shoulder, and the inferior artery allows blood to flow to the upper two-thirds of the shoulder.

The place where the artery bends over the shoulder (elbow joint) is its point of obstruction. Here the pressure (pressure) of the blood increases sharply, which can lead to ischemia of the tissues around the elbow. This promotes the development of slow creeping thrombosis, since blood cannot pass through the narrowed area.
