Artery of the Jejunum

The jejunal artery is one of the branches of the abdominal aorta, which provides blood supply to the walls and organs of the jejunum. It is a large tube located on the posterior wall of the jejunum, near its border with the duodenum. The arteries of the jejunum are divided into two parts: upper and lower. The upper part of the artery is located above the upper border of the jejunum and is called the right jejunal artery (a.jejunalis dextra). The lower part is located in the middle part of the jejunum under the pericolic membrane and constitutes the left jejunal artery (a.jeunalis sinistra).
