Folic acid (vitamin B9) is necessary for normal hematopoiesis and tissue growth. Participates in the synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins. Important for pregnant women.

Combined preparations of ascorbic and folic acids are indicated for the prevention and treatment of hypovitaminosis, as well as during pregnancy and lactation.
