Asmadil

Asmadil: beta-agonist for relieving bronchospasm

Asmadil (international name - Salbutamol) is a bronchodilator used for the prevention and relief of bronchospasm in bronchial asthma, the symptomatic treatment of broncho-obstructive syndrome (chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc.) and the prevention of premature birth. Asmadil belongs to the group of beta-agonists and is available in the form of tablets of 2 mg and 4 mg.

The active substance of Asmadil is Salbutamol, which acts on beta-2 adrenergic receptors located in the smooth muscles of the bronchi. This leads to relaxation of the muscles of the bronchi and expansion of their lumen, which makes breathing easier.

However, like any medicine, Asmadil has its contraindications and side effects. Contraindications include hypersensitivity, coronary artery disease, arterial hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytoma, impaired renal function and the first trimester of pregnancy.

Taking high doses of Asmadil during exacerbation of asthma can aggravate asthma attacks, so it is necessary to follow the recommended dosages and intervals between doses. Side effects may include dizziness, headache, tachycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, myocardial ischemia, heart failure, cardiopathy, pulmonary edema (possibly fatal), facial flushing, agitation, distal tremor, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, loss of appetite , difficulty urinating, sweating, increased blood glucose, free fatty acids, hypokalemia, allergic reactions in the form of erythema, facial swelling, difficulty breathing and the development of physical and mental drug dependence.

Interaction of Asmadil with other drugs can also cause serious complications. For example, increased activity of central nervous system stimulants, cardiotropism of thyroid hormones, as well as a decrease in the effectiveness of beta blockers, antihypertensive drugs, the antianginal effect of nitrates and an increase in the likelihood of hypokalemia with simultaneous use of diuretics.

Therefore, before starting to take Asmadil, you must consult your doctor and inform him about all the medications you are taking and any existing diseases. It is also important to follow the recommended dosages and not exceed them without a doctor’s prescription.
