Atanassio Symptom

Athanassios syndrome (Athanassia symptom) - redness of the eye is observed only when looking up, while other parts of the fundus seem unchanged. Atanassi symptom is an overdiagnostic reaction of people, manifested by an excessive attempt to answer questions. The patient quickly begins to give complete and sometimes unnecessary information, expresses many emotions in a wide variety of forms, while forgetting the essence of the question asked: he gives several answers to each question asked or often repeats his own statements. Symptoms can manifest themselves differently depending on the patient’s personality, medical history, diagnosis, patient’s condition, etc. It is a diagnostic criterion for bipolar disorder in combination with speech hyperactivity, weakness of volitional processes and scarcity of emotional background. Hyperactivity of speech can be expressed in a monotonous manner of speech - everything is about the same thing, the same words, speech can be very loud and assertive. The patient's volitional sphere does not work well. You can often observe mistakes and carelessness in everyday matters: he forgets to do his child’s homework, asks the doctor to replace one dose of medicine with two, etc. Patients suffering from A. or A.G. syndromes may also be prone to obscene language
