Auscultation Direct

Direct auscultation is a research method in which the sounds of the heart, lungs and blood vessels are heard with direct contact of the stethoscope with the examined surface of the body.

Auscultation is carried out with the patient sitting, less often - lying on his back. The place for auscultation is chosen depending on the location of the pathological process.

When auscultating the lungs, the nature of breathing, its frequency, the presence of wheezing, crepitus, and pleural friction noise are determined.

To listen to the heart, the auscultation method is used, in which sound vibrations are perceived by the ear.
