Bacteriolysins

**Bacteriolysin** is an immunoglobulin that contains an active fragment that can cause destruction of the bacterial cell wall. Bacterialisins are used as a means of preventing and treating infectious diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria.

Bacterialisin is a very powerful antibacterial drug that consists of antibodies

Bacteriolysin is an antibody against a bacterial antigen that can cause bacteriolysis (dissolution of bacteria) in the presence of a complement (blood protein system). Bacteriolysin drugs are used to treat infections caused by bacteria with certain antigens. Bacteriolysis is used as immunotherapy and in combination treatment regimens, for example, for group A streptococcal infections. This is due to their ability to cause lysis ("dissolution") of bacteria in the bloodstream and reduce the intensity of the inflammatory response by activating the body's complementary system. They may also be used as an adjunctive treatment for bacterial infections in AIDS patients.
