Balkh fever

Phlebotomy fever, or Balkh fever, is an acute infectious disease caused by viruses of the arenavirus genus, characterized by high-grade febrile fever, hemorrhagic syndrome, general toxic and meningeal manifestations, as well as severe depression of the immune system.

The source of phlebotenosis fever or Balkhia is a sick person (with a mild or asymptomatic course of the disease). The source of infection exists from the moment the last signs of the disease appear in the patient until the chronic forms of the disease disappear. An ill person is most contagious seven days before the onset of clinical manifestations of the disease and can infect before the first symptoms appear.
