Mechanism of action
Bephenium Hydroxynaphthoate disrupts the processes of glucose transport in helminths, which leads to the death of parasites. The drug is active against adults and larvae of hookworms, necators, and strongyloides.
Indications for use
Bephenium Hydroxynaphthoate is indicated for the treatment of hookworm infection, necatoriasis, and strongyloidiasis.
Directions for use and doses
The drug is taken orally in tablet form.
Adults and children over 6 years of age are prescribed 2 tablets 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, evening) for 3 days.
Children from 2 to 6 years old - 1 tablet 3 times a day, also for 3 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects
Dyspeptic symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), headache, skin rash are possible.
Drug interactions
Caution should be exercised during concomitant use with CNS depressants.
Release form and storage conditions
Available in the form of tablets of 0.1 g. Store in a dry place, protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Shelf life - 3 years. The drug is available with a prescription.
