Bifosin: an antifungal agent for the treatment of skin diseases and onychomycosis
Bifosin is an antifungal agent produced in Russia by the pharmaceutical company Sintez AKO in the city of Kurgan. The active component of the drug is bifonazole, a derivative of imidazole and triazole. Bifosin is available in several dosage forms, including topical cream 1%, topical solution 1%, and powder 1%.
Bifosin is used to treat various skin diseases, such as superficial candidiasis, dermatophytosis, lichen versicolor, erythrasma and other ringworm. The drug is also effective in the treatment of onychomycosis, an infectious nail disease caused by a fungus.
When using Bifosin, side effects may occur, such as mild redness or irritation of the skin, burning, tingling, contact dermatitis, irritation, redness, maceration, peeling of the nail bed (in the treatment of onychomycosis) and allergic reactions. If an allergic reaction to the patch occurs, other waterproof dressings or surgical finger guards should be used.
Bifosin is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Restrictions for use are established for infancy. There is no data on the interaction of Bifosin with other drugs or the possibility of overdose.
