Biogenesis

Biogenesis is the process of the emergence of living organisms from inanimate nature. According to the generally accepted concept, this process is carried out due to chemical and physical transformations of matter, which lead to the formation of living things.

There are several theories explaining the mechanism of biogenesis. The most widespread is the Oparin–Haldane theory, according to which the simplest organic compounds (amino acids) appeared in the Earth’s primary atmosphere, containing carbon dioxide and methane. They then formed protein-like molecules and protobionts. The biosynthesis process gradually became more complex, resulting in the formation of complex organisms.
