Biopotential

Biopotential (biopotentials) are electrical potentials that arise in living tissues during the functioning of organs and systems. The term "biopotential" means the potential difference at the boundaries of living tissue, including cell and tissue. The main significance of biopotentials in medicine is that they can be used as sensitive parameters for assessing the condition of tissues and organs, as well as monitoring the development of pathological processes in them. By recording potentials during an examination, it is possible to obtain information about the intensity of blood supply to organs, diagnose the presence of a focus of the inflammatory process, and determine the localization of the pathological process in the body.
