Blepharoplegia

Blepharoptosis is an ophthalmological disease characterized by one or both paralysis of the eyelid muscle, leading to impaired mobility. The muscles do not make the closing movement of the eyelid when blinking, which often leads to injuries to the ocular surface and cornea.

There is a lack of reaction or a decrease in the range of movements of the lower and/or upper half of the eyelids during blinking (blepharoptosis), usually bilateral, in some cases there is a symptom of ptosis of the upper eyelid. Blepharoptosis is often combined with general (non-vegetative) signs of damage to the nervous system.
