Bramisil: description of the drug, indications for use and side effects

Bramisil is an antifungal drug produced by Bryntsalov-A in Russia. The active substance is terbinafine, which can be used both in the form of a cream for external use and in the form of tablets for internal use.

Indications for the use of Bramisil include fungal infections of the skin, nails and hair, as well as candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes. However, before using the drug, it is necessary to study contraindications and side effects.

Contraindications to the use of Bramisil include hypersensitivity to terbinafine, severe hepatic and renal failure, blood diseases, metabolic diseases, tumors, vascular pathology of the extremities, pregnancy, breastfeeding and children under 2 years of age.

Side effects of Bramisil may include a feeling of heaviness and pain in the epigastric region, taste disturbance, loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhea, cholestasis, neutropenia, allergic skin reactions, burning sensation, redness of the skin and itching in the area where the cream is applied.

The interaction of Bramisil with other drugs may lead to an increase in the plasma concentration of histamine H-2 blockers. Terfenadine can reduce and rifampicin can double clearance.

An overdose of Bramisil is possible only when taken orally. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness and epigastric pain. Treatment should be symptomatic.

During treatment with Bramisil, it is necessary to carry out antifungal treatment of shoes, socks and stockings. You should also avoid getting the cream in your eyes, nose and mouth.
