Branch To The Lateral Ampulla Of The Vestibulocochlear Nerve (Ramus Ampullae Lateralis, Jna)

Ampulla lateralis is a branch to the auricular ampulla, continuing the medial rectifying canal (canalis decoloratus medialis) and located on the lateral surface of the IV ventricle under its arcuate process and stapes. It rises in front of the suprajagular tonsil, connects transversely with the caudal process of the mandibular part of the nuclei of the VI nerve. Branches: 1) a. cerebri media; 2) plagioencephalon; 3) ramus to the exit of the facial nerve.
