Brompton Cocktail

The Brompton Cocktail is an alcoholic mixture of morphine and cocaine that is sometimes used to relieve severe pain in terminally ill people, especially cancer patients. This mixture was first used at Brompton Hospital in London; to date, it has helped relieve the condition of thousands of patients. The Brompton cocktail combines the analgesic and stimulant effects of morphine and cocaine, respectively. Thanks to this combination, it can reduce pain while simultaneously preventing drowsiness and loss of energy caused by taking opioid painkillers. Despite its effectiveness, the use of the Brompton cocktail is limited these days due to the availability of alternative methods of pain relief.
