Bronchipret

Bronchipret: an effective expectorant

Bronchipret is a medicine manufactured in Germany by Bionorica GmbH. It belongs to the pharmacological group of drugs that stimulate expectoration. Bronchipret is available in two dosage forms: drops for internal use and syrup.

The main active components of Bronchipret are liquid extract of thyme herb and tincture of ivy leaves. Liquid extract of thyme herb has an expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect, helps to liquefy mucus. Tincture of ivy leaves also has expectorant properties and helps improve mucus discharge. The ethanol content in the preparation is 19% in drops and 7% in syrup.

Bronchipret is used as an expectorant in the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by cough and sputum formation, such as tracheitis, tracheobronchitis and bronchitis.

However, there are some contraindications to the use of Bronchipret. It is not recommended to use the drug if you are hypersensitive to its components, as well as in children under 6 years of age (for drops) and up to 3 months (for syrup). Due to the ethanol content, the drug is not recommended for alcoholism, epilepsy, liver and brain diseases. It is also not recommended to take Bronchipret during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

In some cases, adverse reactions associated with the occurrence of allergic reactions to the drug are possible.

When using Bronchipret, you should avoid simultaneous use with antitussive drugs and drugs that reduce the formation of sputum, as this may make it difficult to expectorate liquefied sputum. However, the drug can be combined with antibacterial drugs.

In case of an overdose of Bronchipret, pain in the stomach, vomiting and diarrhea may occur.

It is important to note that if symptoms of the disease persist for 10-14 days while using the drug, you should consult a doctor. Bronchipret contains ethanol, so you should be careful when prescribing the drug to children and patients with diabetes. During long-term storage at temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius, drops may lose their effectiveness due to a possible disruption of the structure of the active components.

In any case, it is recommended that you consult with your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use Bronchipret to assess its suitability for your specific condition and to receive personalized dosage and duration recommendations.
