Bupresic is used to treat high-intensity pain that can occur after surgery, in cancer patients, myocardial infarction, renal colic and burns.
Despite its effectiveness in treating pain, Bupresic has a number of contraindications. It should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance, physical dependence, conditions accompanied by respiratory depression or severe depression of the central nervous system, as well as convulsive conditions, increased intracranial pressure, traumatic brain injury, acute alcoholic conditions and alcoholic psychosis, bronchial asthma, paralytic ileus, cardiopulmonary failure, cardiac arrhythmias, pregnancy and lactation, as well as in children under 16 years of age.
Like many other narcotic analgesics, Bupresic can cause side effects, including headache, dizziness, sweating, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, hypotension, lethargy, respiratory depression, slow respiratory and motor reactions, and skin rash.
Bupresic may also interact with other drugs that depress the central nervous system, such as tranquilizers and antipsychotics, as well as monoamine oxidase inhibitors, which may increase its main and side effects, as well as its toxicity.
In case of an overdose of Bupresic, a stuporous or comatose state, hypothermia, hypotension, respiratory depression and constriction of the pupils may develop. Treatment should include the administration of naloxone and symptomatic agents.
During treatment with Bupresic, it is not recommended to engage in activities that require concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions. In addition, Bupresic should not be used during treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and for 14 days after their discontinuation, as this can lead to serious side effects, including hyperpyrexia, hypertensive crisis, convulsions and even death.
Overall, Bupresic is an effective analgesic that can help patients with severe pain symptoms. However, its use should be limited and carried out under the supervision of qualified medical personnel. It is also important to follow all contraindications and use Bupresic carefully in combination with other medications.
