Calmese: a benzodiazepine-derived tranquilizer
Kalmese is a pharmacological drug belonging to the group of benzodiazepine-derived tranquilizers. It is widely used in medical practice to treat various mental and neurological conditions. The main active ingredient of the drug is lorazepam, which is produced by the Indian company Temis Chemicals Ltd.
Calmese is available as tablets containing 1 mg or 2 mg of lorazepam. The drug has a sedative, antiepileptic, hypnotic and muscle-relaxing effect. It has an effect on the central nervous system, reducing anxiety, tension and agitation.
Indications for the use of Kalmese include the treatment of neuroses accompanied by anxiety and excitement, emotional stress and restlessness, psychoreactive states, anxiety in various depressions, schizophrenia, manic states, sleep disorders, psychosomatic disorders, status epilepticus, headaches, vomiting caused by chemotherapy, alcoholic delirium .
However, before you start taking Calmese, you need to take into account contraindications. The drug is not recommended for hypersensitivity to lorazepam, the presence of myasthenia gravis, angle-closure glaucoma, acute intoxication, depressive neuroses, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as in children under 12 years of age (tablets) and adolescents under 18 years of age (injections).
Calmese may cause some side effects, including dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, appetite disturbances, muscle weakness, drowsiness, depression, headache, blood changes and itchy skin. With prolonged use of the drug, drug dependence may develop.
Interaction of Kalmese with other drugs can lead to an increase or decrease in their effect. Narcotic analgesics, general and local anesthetics can enhance the effect of Calmese. Alcohol and other central nervous system depressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors and antidepressants may increase the neurotropic activity of the drug. Scopolamine, in turn, increases sedation, induces hallucinations and illogical behavior.
