Siberian carbuncle is a purulent inflammation of the skin in the area of large and small folds, mainly the lower half of the body (abdomen, limbs, buttocks, perineum), less often the mucous membranes. The causative agent of the disease is the Frisch–Wong bacillus, which is small in size but prone to intracellular parasitism. It got its name for its ability to form carbuncles - swelling of internal organs. Infection occurs through direct contact with a patient whose belongings are carriers of the pathogen. A sick person becomes a carrier after 5-6 days. Reasons for re-infection
