Catatonia Febrile

Catatonia is a syndrome of mental pathology characterized by motor retardation, body immobility, muscle rigidity, negativism, lack of speech and passive submission. The syndrome develops with intoxication, infectious diseases, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, and in severe cases of schizophrenia. In 6–7% of patients, catatonic symptoms occur during manic states (Hunner's disease). The name “catatonia” was proposed by the scientist J. E. Dupre in the 17th century. Catatonic excitation is one of the types of motor psychosis that occurs in different situations - after drug use.
