Cefamandol

Cefamandome is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the group of second-generation cephalosporins. Has a bactericidal effect. The drug is a 6-membered beta-lactam antibiotic and has a bactericidal effect on Gr+ and Gr- microorganisms. The main mechanism of action is inhibition of peptidoglycan synthesis in the bacterial cell wall. Cefamandoline acts on many gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, S. aureus, S. pyogenes, S. agalactiae, E. coli, Neisseria meningitidis and other gram-negative microorganisms, but is ineffective against anaerobes. Dose-dependently inhibits the synthesis of the cell wall of microorganisms. Has a pronounced bactericidal effect against microbial cells in a state of extracellular permeability (for example, in a state after filtration through bacterial filters with a pore diameter of 0.2-0.5 microns) and intracellularly (including in phagocytes
