Middle Cranial Fossa

The middle cranial fossa is a depression that is located on the front of the skull, between the eye sockets and the temporal bones. It has a round shape and its depth ranges from 2 to 5 mm. The width of the hole, in turn, can be from 15 to 45 mm. The depth of the hole to the bone reaches only half of its height. Its upper part is also called the lateral ethmoid fossa.\n\nDuring the process of ontogenesis, the skull is formed from the anterior to the posterior. Cranial fossae are formed in the anterior section. Motor nuclei VI and VII appear very quickly, then as the brain grows, the cerebellum puts pressure on them. Pits
