Conpin

Konpin: an effective antianginal drug from Germany

Konpin, isosorbide mononitrate, is a highly effective drug belonging to the group of antianginal agents - nitrates and nitrites. Konpin is produced by Tad Pharmaceuticals Wecker GmbH in Germany.

Isosorbide mononitrate, the active ingredient of Konpin, has the ability to dilate blood vessels and improve blood supply to the heart. The drug is used for the treatment of angina pectoris for preventive purposes, as well as in the post-infarction period and for chronic heart failure as part of combination therapy.

The use of Konpin has some contraindications. Its use is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to the drug, acute myocardial infarction with reduced left ventricular filling pressure, cardiogenic shock, vascular collapse, severe arterial hypotension (with blood pressure less than 90 mm Hg), hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, constrictive pericarditis, cardiac tamponade , cerebral hemorrhages, primary pulmonary hypertension, glaucoma, as well as during pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects of Conpin may include nitrate headache, hypotension (including orthostatic hypotension) with reflex tachycardia, lethargy, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, erythema, methemoglobinemia and allergic reactions.

Konpin's interaction with other drugs can lead to an increase in its effect when used simultaneously with vasodilators, calcium antagonists and tricyclic antidepressants, as well as with alcoholic beverages. Barbiturates, on the contrary, can accelerate the biotransformation of isosorbide mononitrate and reduce its concentration in the blood.

In case of an overdose of Konpin, the adverse reactions of the drug may intensify. Treatment consists of monitoring vital signs and symptomatic therapy.

When prescribing Konpin to patients with glaucoma or increased intracranial pressure, caution should be exercised. The drug is not recommended for use to relieve an attack of angina. In addition, during treatment with Konpin it is not recommended to take alcoholic beverages, as this may enhance the hypotensive effect of the drug.

It is important to consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to take Conpin to get detailed information about the drug, its dosage, possible side effects and interactions with other medicines.
