Coronary disease

Coronary disease is the general name for a group of diseases that affect the coronary artery that supplies blood to the heart. They are among the most common causes of heart failure and can lead to a heart attack. There are two main forms of this disease: coronary heart disease and myocardial infarction. Usually the first occurs as a result of atherosclerosis, and the second as a result of acute coronary heart disease. In the second form, necrosis of the heart muscle occurs, which often results from blockage of a coronary artery by a thrombus. The main symptom for detecting coronary disease is pressure in the chest, often called a feeling of squeezing, pain in the chest area. It can be a constant pain or occur with exercise, anxiety or emotional stress. Other symptoms are also common, including shortness of breath, feeling very tired or weak, nausea and vomiting.
