Cuperneil Symptom

CooperNail symptom is a symptom that is used in medicine to diagnose lung diseases. It was discovered and described by the American surgeon George Coopernail in 1876.

Cooperneil noticed that with lung diseases, white or yellow stripes appear on the surface of the nails. These streaks are formed due to the accumulation of dust and other particles on the surface of the nail, which enter the lungs when breathing.

Today, Cooperneil syndrome is used in the diagnosis of various lung diseases, such as tuberculosis, pneumonia, lung cancer and others. If this symptom appears, you should consult a doctor for additional research and treatment.
