Dactylion

Dactylion (dactylion; from the Greek dakfylos - “finger”) is the intersection point of the sagittal and lambdoid sutures on the human skull. It corresponds to the place where the fontanel is located in newborns.

The dactylion is one of the craniometric landmarks on the skull. Its position is used in anthropology and forensic medicine to measure and describe the structure of the skull. The dactylion coordinates are also used as a reference point in neurosurgeries and brain research.
