Depression asthenia (asthenic type)

Depression asthenia or asthenoid depression is a psycho-emotional disorder characteristic of people with severe weakness and exhaustion, in which physiological symptoms of low mood, inability to concentrate, anxiety and eating disorders predominate. In some cases, the disease develops without signs of circadian rhythms, low self-esteem, feelings of inferiority, or feelings of hopelessness. The syndrome may have a manic character with attacks of hyperactivity and a combination of symptoms of asthenia and hypomania. This condition is caused by anemia of the nervous system, which means the body's immune system is unable to regulate the activity of neurocytes. Metabolism in the brain tissue slows down, which stimulates the production of serotonin, a natural sedative for the body with a hypotensive effect. A slowdown in metabolism disrupts the natural function - the transmission of nerve impulses - in one of the parts of the brain, but at the same time contributes to the disruption of the formation of nervous energy. The functions regulated by this department are supported by other departments, redirecting all their resources to replenish the lack of energy, which leads to increased symptoms of depression. Typical manifestations of depressive syndrome that have no connection with the course of life include: - inexplicable melancholy, - tearfulness, - decreased performance, - lack of interest in favorite activities, hobbies, - loss of enthusiasm and even motivation, - uncertainty in one’s actions, - depression
