The dermographic reflex, also known as the dermographic reaction or dermography, is a phenomenon in which a slight touch to the skin causes a reaction associated with temporary pain and redness. Dermography is characterized by the rapid appearance of a reddened area of skin. Dermography is believed to have several causes, and its examination can be used to diagnose certain conditions, such as migraines, metabolic disorders, and chronic pain. However, dermography has not yet been widely used in medicine due to low sensitivity and insufficient accuracy compared to other research methods.
